FAQ

What is the difference between Coins and in-match cash?
Coins appear on the lobby HUD (for example 211 or 427 in footage) and fund Shop purchases. In-match cash (often shown as $320 or $3055) pays for tower placement and upgrades during waves.
How many Coins do you get for winning Easy mode?
The voting card lists 100 Coins. One Toilet City Easy victory screen showed 400 total after match, 2x event, and coin boost lines stacked.
How much do codes give?
Pro Game Guides lists 50 lobby Coins for Engineer, UpgradedTitanSpeakerman, and NewMaps when active—we have not redeemed them ourselves.
What does Scientist Cameraman do for economy?
Footage shows wave-clear cash plus donation lines scaling with level—up to +1400 donation and +1000 wave clear at level 5 max in Wave 22.

What currencies exist in Cameraman Tower Defense?

You juggle lobby Coins, in-match cash, and—since Update 3—gems on Shop screens. Coins and codes live outside the tower defense loop; cash powers placements mid-wave. CTD Tips documents only what footage and multi-source guides agree on; gem farming beyond Spider Crate prices remains unknown.

How do you earn lobby Coins?

Source What we know
Match wins Voting cards: 100 / 200 / 300 / 600 Coins for Easy / Normal / Hard / Insane (difficulty modes)
Event/boost lines Victory UI adds separate rows (example: 100 match + 100 2x event + 100 coin boost → 400 total on Toilet City Easy)
Codes 50 Coins each for active strings per Pro Game Guides—all codes
Shop packs Jetpack Pack includes +1,000 Coins (Robux)—shop and crates
Group like reward Destructoid claims 200 Coins for group + like—single source, unverified

Active x2 Coin icons appear bottom-left in lobby footage; treat them as temporary multipliers, not a separate currency.

How does in-match cash work?

Each wave you spend cash to place units from the five-slot hotbar (costs like $100–$1500 in beginner runs). Upgrades pull from the same pool—Large Cameraman’s $300 level-up on Hard Wave 1 is one example in difficulty modes.

Scientist Cameraman is the standout economy tower in reviewed footage:

  • Level 4 (Wave 14): panel Cash 300 +200, upgrade $2000; messages Wave Cleared! +$650! and donated you +$1200!
  • Level 5 max (Wave 22): Cash 500; +$1400 donation and +$1000 wave clear lines

Menzi’s video notes $100 placement and 500 per round at max—creator commentary aligned with the on-screen Cash 500 line, not an official tooltip.

What about gems?

Gems appear beside 0 gem balances when Shop opens Spider Crate (100/300/1000 gem bundles). RoStats and Shop banners mention a Gems Update—we cannot list every earn path without in-game confirmation. Spending gems is documented in shop and crates; earning them is an open question.

How should you spend Coins first?

  1. Redeem safe codes after three wins—how to redeem codes.
  2. Play Easy until you understand cash flow—beginner guide.
  3. Only then consider Robux crates if you accept gamble odds.

Track patches that shift payouts in update log.
